HOURS before her body was found stuffed inside a hockey duffel bag, Orsolya Gaal was seen enjoying a night out in her yard before a mysterious figure carried her body down the street.
Police are trying to figure out how the stay-at-home mother from Queens became the victim of the chilling crime.

“It’s a mystery,” said an NYPD official. “Now it’s a question of piecing together everything she did that night.
During Gaal’s, 51, final hours Friday night, she had gone out with friends. Authorities are combing through video and pulling receipts from the places she went to.
“[Then] around 4:30am [Saturday], you see somebody rolling this [duffle bag] down the sidewalk from multiple cameras,” said the official.
“[Cops] actually traced it backward from the scene to the house,” they said, describing the blood trail from the bag where Gaal was found. According to authorities, the woman knew the people she was hanging out with and they are currently being interviewed.

“I saw her [Friday] in her back yard,” John Blankson told The New York Post. Blankson lives next door to Gaal and her family.
“We share a common backyard with [her] dog,” he said, referring to the pooch Gall posted multiple photos of on her Facebook page.
“[Saturday] morning, we were like, ‘Why can’t we hear the dog this morning?’ It’s super shocking,” he said.
Surveillance footage from the area showed “an unknown individual” dragging a wheeled duffel bag from the direction of the woman’s home.
About four and a half hours later, Gaal’s body was discovered inside the bag and police were able to follow the blood trail to the side door of her home.
Timeline of information so far:
- Sometime before Friday, April 15: Gaal’s husband, Howard Klein, tweets about landing in Portland with their 17-year-old son for a college trip
- Friday, April 15: Gaal goes out with her friends and is spotted on camera.
- Saturday, April 16: Around 4:30 in the morning a mysterious figure is seen rolling a duffel back down the sidewalk from Gail’s home.
- 8am Saturday, April 16: Gaal’s body is discovered less than a mile away from her home by a dog walker.
- Gaal’s younger son, 13, is questioned by police but later released.
Gaal’s 13-year-old son was found on the top floor of the home, said police.
“He stated he lives at the location but does not know where she is,” police said in a statement. The boy was interviewed while in custody and was eventually released. Authorities do not believe he had left the house overnight.
Howard Klein, Gaal’s husband, was reportedly in Portland on a college hunt with their 17-year-old-son at the time of her death, according to posts on social media.
Klein was apparently on the way home while repeating that the family’s lives “are at stake.
“There are concerns about our safety,” he said. “Our lives are at risk.”
When announcing his trip with his son in a now-deleted Twitter post, Klein also mentioned hedge-funder Bill Browder’s book on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Just landed Portland OR before evaluating Ann Arbor again with my 17-year-old son,” he wrote.
